Though born in Surrey, I spent most of my childhood in Greater Manchester. I gained a Computer Science degree at Leicester Polytechnic (now De Montfort University) and have remained in Leicester ever since.
By profession I'm a computer programmer. I worked for many years at the local County Council before becoming a self-employed "contractor" in 1997. If you want to know more you can read my CV.
I've long been interested in hill-walking, and have been on the committee of the Leicester Local YHA Group since 1992. My favorite walking area is the English Lake District, but I'm also a regular visitor to Wales, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
