Officer

This individual wears the uniform of a centre cacciatore company, with the gorget and silver distinctions that mark him out as an officer. The epaulette worn on the left shoulder indicates that he is an Aiutante (adjutant) to a more senior officer, the Capo Battaglione. Such an officer would probably have been a captain in his own right.

The Weiland manuscript was produced between 1807 and 1812 by an ex-Württemburg army officer, C. F. Weiland. It covers both French forces and those of their allies, especially the various Confederation of the Rhine states. Two members of the 1st Italian Light are represented:
